Entry to Indian monuments free for 75 years of Independence |
As part of `Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav`, the Union Government of India has allowed free entry to all Archaeological Survey of India-protected monuments and sites across the country till August 15 starting 5th August. This is being done as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations to mark 75 years of India`s Independence. More than 3,500 monuments are protected by the ASI across India. Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Central government to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of India`s Independence and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements. The Mahotsav is being celebrated as a Jan-Utsav or people`s celebration. The Ministry of Culture is overseeing the cultural events to celebrate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
