Modi says no winner in Russia-Ukraine conflict |
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held his first meeting with Olaf Scholzafter Olaf assumed the office of the German Chancellor in December 2021. The two leaders held a one-on-one discussion before holding delegation-level talks. India`s Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval were part of the Indian delegation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in Germany that no country can emerge victorious in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, underlining that India supports peace, and made an appeal to end the war. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accorded the Guard of Honour at the forecourt of the Federal Chancellery in Berlin. Talking about the change that India has witnessed in past 7 years during his interaction with the Indian diaspora at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, Modi said that India has ended the politically unstable atmosphere of the last three decades by pressing a button. Modi began his address by stating, “I want to talk to you about the capabilities of crores of Indians and sing their praises. When I speak about crores of Indians, it includes not only the people who live there but also those who live here,”. The Prime Minister said his words include all the children of Maa Bharati who live in every corner of the world. The Indian Prime Minister further said that “after 30 years a full majority government was elected in 2014 and the people of India made the government stronger in 2019. I am the first Prime Minister who was born in independent India. The peak on which India would be at the time it celebrates 100 years of independence, India is strongly taking step after step and walking swiftly toward that goal,”.
