Sensex falls by 650 points |
Indian equity indices on Bombay Stock Exchange, called BSE, and the National Stock Exchange, called NSE, continued their downward curve for the fourth straight day as they opened over 1 percent lower on 21st January, tracking the weakness in the global market. The BSE Stock Index, the Sensex, slumped 690.51 points to 58,774.11, in opening deals, while the Nifty 50 declined 194.10 points to 17,562.90. Bajaj Finserv, Wipro, Infosys, Dr Reddy`s Laboratories, Tech Mahindra and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries were the top losers in the early trade. Investors hoped for some recovery and were looking forward to the outcome of the December 2021 quarter results of Reliance Industries to be announced later in the day on 21st December.
