UAE permits silver cardholders from India |
UAE is opening up after a strict curb due to COVID-19 when no one was allowed entry. The United Arab Emirates is now permitting silver residency permit holders, in addition to gold permits, from India and other countries in the subcontinent like Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka to enter the country. However, the permission comes with a condition. UAE`s General Civil Aviation Authority has mandated that travelers eligible to visit from these countries will have to wear “a monitoring and tracking device”. The Authority makes the traveler wear a bracelet for the 10-day quarantine. Passengers need to undergo an RT-PCR on the fourth day and then the eighth day. If the results are negative, then they can take off the bracelet and are free to go anywhere.” GCAA quarantine rules for visitors from the Indian subcontinent says, “Their movement is limited to the required movement between the hotel and the airport without coming into close contact with persons of the community.” The UAE for now has extended restrictions on travellers from India till the 6th of July. The UAE, the biggest international destination for Indian travelers, had imposed restrictions from April 25th due to the unfolding Covid catastrophe in India. The UAE in the past few days enforced stricter rules to prevent the fast-spreading virus mutant from playing havoc in India. It barred business jet operators from selling individual seats on charters headed to the country from Covid hotspots.
