UP Cabinet Expansion 2026: Yogi Adityanath Promotes 2, Adds 6 New Ministers
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expanded his council of Ministers on 10th May 2026, adding six important new ministers and promoting two others to strengthen its social base ahead of the 2027 Assembly polls. Governor Anandiben Patel administered the oath to the new ministers at Jan Bhavan in Lucknow. Ministers of State Ajit Pal and Somendra Tomar were elevated to higher positions. Six new ministers were sworn in: Bhupendra Chaudhary, Manoj Pandey, Krishna Paswan, Kailash Singh Rajput, Hansraj Vishwakarma, and Surendra Diler. Yogi Adityanath now has a 60-member council of ministers. Political analysts say that promotions and additions focus on regional and caste-balanced representation, with a mix of OBC, SC, and Brahmin inclusions that should help strengthen BJP's position in the elections in 2027
