India will likely procure five more S-400 Triumf air defense systems, considering the system proved itself in Operation Sindoor. Reportedly, the Cabinet Committee on Security will finalize the cost before the Finance Ministry of India approves it.

Russian President Vladimir Putin will most likely attend the BRICS summit in Delhi on September 11-13. The deal is gathering momentum and will feature in bilateral talks on the sidelines of the Summit. 

The last of the five systems acquired in 2018 at USD 5.43 billion will be reaching India in November 2026. Reportedly, the fifth S-400 system will be deployed in India’s eastern sector facing China.

During Operation Sindoor, one of its long-range missiles from the S-400 targeted a Pakistani early airborne warning aircraft at a distance of 314 kilometers across the Indus in the Pakistani heartland.
