Navi Mumbai International Airport Ranked Among World’s Best New Airports by Skytrax
The Skytrax annual list shows India’s latest international airport, Navi Mumbai International Airport, is now ranked among the best in the world in Japan, China and the US. Navi Mumbai is considered a new generation of airport terminals, focusing on faster transfers, larger capacities and better passenger facilities. Navi Mumbai is one of the two new airports in the last year, the other one being in Jewar, NOIDA, Uttar Pradesh, near Delhi. The latest Skytrax World Airport Awards are based on global passenger surveys. It covers airport terminals that have opened in the previous 18 months with a full range of airport facilities, staff services and customer experience evaluation. Japan’s Aso Kumamoto Airport in Mashiki topped the list. Navi Mumbai was ranked fourth globally. Navi Mumbai was built to ease pressure on Mumbai’s existing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. The plans envisage handling up to 90 million passengers annually. The airport began operations on 25 December 2025.
