Indian Carriers Plan 50 Flights in War-Hit Middle East
The Indian government said it is monitoring the US-Iran war and its effects on people and movement, especially by air travel that has been totally disrupted. India’s Ministry of Civil Aviation has asked airlines to ply safe but urgent routes as possible. The ministry said that on 7th March 2026, around 51 flights by Indian carriers arrived in India from the Middle East carrying 8,175 passengers. On 8th March 2026, Indian carriers—Air India, Air India Express, Indigo, Spicejet, and Akasa—are to operate 49 inbound flights from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Muscat, and Jeddah, subject to prevailing conditions. Similarly, 50 flights are planned for 9th March 2026. The ministry is coordinating with airlines, regional governments, and Indian missions in the region.
