India’s leading online travel agency, MakeMyTrip, has said that Thailand tops India’s year-end international travel bookings, replacing the United Arab Emirates.

MakeMyTrip said its booking data for travel between 20th December 2025 and 5th January 2026 showed that travelers are more interested in short-haul destinations, with higher spending on accommodation across leisure and pilgrimage travel.

Vietnam recorded the biggest change, rising from seventh position last year to fourth this year. Other destinations in the top 10 included Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Hong Kong.

In 2024, the UAE was the favorite destination, followed by Thailand and Sri Lanka, with Australia featuring in the top 10.
