South Africa Deputy President Visits India to Boost Trade, Technology & Bilateral Relations

In Mashatile’s meetings with Indian President Droupadi Murmu, Indian Vice President C P Radhakrishnan, Indian External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar, the two sides focused on expanding engagement in sectors like technology, pharmaceuticals, energy, skilling and the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

India and South Africa share a special friendship that is both historic and contemporary, with both countries being leading voices of the Global South. Bilateral trade has grown, and it was agreed to expand mutually beneficial engagement in fields such as technology, pharmaceuticals, energy, MSMEs, skilling, trade, investment, defence cooperation, skills development, and enhancing people-to-people ties.

Mashatile is accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising senior ministers and officials of the government of South Africa. The two countries wish to work closely in international forums like the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), BRICS, IBSA, G20 and Indian Ocean Region Alliance.

Mashatile will conclude his visit in Hyderabad, South India.
