Delhi-Howrah Hugh speed rail corridor survey has been completed and Patna city in Bihar state will be on the bullet train corridor. Reports say this corridor is seen as a revolution and boon foe the Eastern India network and will drastically cut travel time. The 1,669-kilometre Delhi to Howrah route will be completed in just 6.5 hours. The Patna to Delhi distance is 1,000 kilometer will take only 4 hours, down from 13–14 hours. Patna to Kolkata will be jusy 2 hours. The project rail line will cost ₹5 lakh crore and done in two phases:
Phase 1: Delhi to Varanasi via Lucknow and Ayodhya by 2029
Phase 2: Varanasi to Howrah via Patna
Bihar route will go through Buxar, Patna, and Kiul and then enter West Bengal.
